Sacred Heart Consecration: Day 3

Heart of Jesus, Substantially United to the Word of God

In this lesson, Annabelle Moseley, poet; author; and Professor of Theology, leads Day 3 of the 33-Day “Our House of the Sacred Heart” Consecration and teaches “The Lesson of the Wave” as a real-life example of answering God’s call. Beautiful prayers, devotions, art, stories, scripture and poetry are included in this podcast that won’t take much of your time… but is time well-spent.

Reflection on Art

How much do you love this featured work of art today? If anyone you love is in heaven, I bet you can relate to what St. John the Beloved is feeling here. Let us kiss the very hem of Jesus’s garment, too. How can you do this today through the love you show Him?

Questions of the Day

  • Do you have a memory of a beautiful goodbye or parting?
  • Which verses from Scripture help you to hold on?

As I sat by the bedside of my Father’s hospital bed, I remember him lifting up his head and looking at me. I said Daddy it’s me KarenLee, but he just put his head back on the pillow. I did not know then that this was the last goodbye from my Daddy. He passed the next day. (54 yrs ago on 5/10/67)
As I sat by the bedside of my Mother’s hospital bed, I leaned over to whisper in her ear, Mommy, I release you from your promise. (I always said, Mommy where you go, I go) I did not want to see her on the respiratory, struggling to live and stay with me. As soon as I said it, a single tear fell from her eye. I know in my heart that she was waiting for me to release her from the promise she made to me. That was on July 25, 2001. I will never forget these two goodbyes from the two most important people in my life. It is because of them that I have the spiritual background till today!

    Karenlee,

What beautiful parents formed your faith!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Your story is truly a treasure of love and faith, and we are all richer for hearing it.

TRUTH! How you say goodbye is so important. I will never forget my last goodbye last year to both my Mom and Dad separately.
